And even before it was broken it wasn't working particularly well. So I now have access to a scanner, but not the internet. Since the scanner belongs to school, not me, and I keep forgetting my flashdrive anyway, we have a small problem.
Speaking of scanners: my old one, which was, oh, 15 years old, got, quite literally, eaten by one of my cats. Sort of. Copper (the long, skinny generic brown stripey one, whose name is actually Copernicus), decided over winter break that what he really wanted to do was chew the cord to ribbons. And so I can no longer connect it to my computer, and it's ridiculously old, so I can't get replacement parts, either. And I have no money.
So, I am at my local coffee shop, taking a break from working on my FI final project and a couple of letters I need to finish and send. And avoiding looking at the really, really terrible artwork.
Speaking of which, does anyone want a letter? Note me your address, something to call you (because usernames look ridiculous on an envelope), and something you would like a simple sketch of (because otherwise, or if I can't actually draw what you want, you're getting a sketch of either Godzilla or clothing designs), a subject of conversation (unless you want wild rambles about whatever comes into my head), and I will send you a letter. I have frilly handwriting and good stationary (or fun cards) and sealing wax? (despite all claims to the contrary, no kisses were involved with the sealing of any letters I send. My sister has run off with my other seal.)
Any actual writing will probably take a while, though, because of finals, which are in two weeks. But after that I'll have plenty of time.
Let's see...
Oh! I have stripes now. Well, just one stripe.
My sister went to Prom two weeks ago, so we went and got her hair done by Susan, who has been dealing with our hair since little sis was seven? Six? Well, much littler than she is now. Because she has one of those super fashionable fancy haircuts, with the layers and the bangs that go over one eye and the sticky-up parts in back, Susan decided to streak her hair with true blonde and dark brown, so my mother and I went and got dinner. When we got back, little sis was up in tinfoil and was being put under the thing that eats your brain, and Susan had some of the dark brown dye left.
It'll go to waste, she said. It'll be fun, she said. You should try it, she said. Clearly, I suck at resisting peer pressure.
It's only a little darker than my own hair, but on me it also turned very, very red. So now I have a narrow stripe of dark, pretty much the same color as my eyebrows, on either side of my part. It looks fine, given that it's not very noticeable, but I think if I had to do it again I'd get the stripe done wider, so that it showed up a little.
But now I should probably go back to work. I need to finish draping a pattern over the skirt of drawing #3.

If you've been trying to get ahold of me:
We haven't had internet at home for over a month, though that appears to be fixed now. I'm trying to catch up on things, but we're currently in production and I have midterms, so no promises.
Papercuts, everywhere!
You may have noticed the papercuts. There are four of them now, and a few more in progress, mostly because I'm somewhat bored waiting for classes to start. Currently I've pretty much exclusively been doing Otherworlde characters selected at random (no, seriously, I go through the student folder and pick images I like and/or look simple enough to cut), but I thought I'd mention that I: a. take suggestions (aka requests) and b. mail them off if whoever owns/requested the character wants it. No money involved, just an address. (shipping is something around $0.43, because they are letter sized and letter shaped and very, very light, which even I

...Or just stick with the battery terminal cleaner/super heavy flashlight combo I've got in my backpack right now.
Thinking about it because I just got added from the waitlist for my Linguistics class, which I really need to take unless I want to take yet another year at my current school, but the class gets out at 4, which means I take the bus at 5, after sitting at the bus stop for almost an hour, and get back at 6. Hardly the latest class I've ever had, but Rocklin is not South Sac. At all.
I'm not a conventionally pretty girl to start with, nor do I dress 'sexily' in any way shape or form (my clothes tend towards long sleeves, high coll

Here's what you need to know: girl cousin #14 is 14. She thinks she's the next Juliet. Her 'Romeo' is an 18 year old boy. Girl cousin #14 has a large handful of learning disabilities and brain chemical imbalances. I believe she ranks at the high end of the autism scale. (There is a possibility that this is ano
